When you use Hop ("Hop," "we," "us"), a brand of Dircks Moving Services, Inc., we collect the following information:
- Contact information: Name, email address, and phone number
- Move details: Origin and destination addresses, home size, inventory details, move date, and service preferences
- Payment information: Credit or debit card details, processed and stored securely by Stripe. We never store your full card number on our servers
- Usage data: Pages visited, browser type, and device information collected automatically when you use our website
2. How Your Data Is Used
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and coordinate your moving services
- Generate accurate quotes based on your move details
- Process payments and manage authorization holds
- Send booking confirmations, reminders, and move-day communications (via email and, if opted in, text message)
- Respond to customer service inquiries
- Improve our service and website experience
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.
3. Third-Party Services
Hop uses the following third-party services to operate. Each has its own privacy policy governing how they handle your data:
- Stripe: Secure payment processing, card storage, and authorization holds
- Google Maps: Address validation and distance calculation for quotes
- Mailgun: Transactional emails (booking confirmations, reminders)
- Go High Level: Scheduling and calendar management
- Google Cloud Platform: Website hosting and data storage
We only share the minimum information necessary for each service to function. For example, Stripe receives your card details but not your moving inventory, and Google Maps receives your addresses but not your payment information.
4. Data Security Practices
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), secure payment processing through PCI-compliant Stripe infrastructure, and access controls on our internal systems. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Specifically:
- Booking and payment records: Retained for 7 years to comply with tax and financial regulations
- Customer contact information: Retained for 3 years after your last interaction with Hop
- Website usage data: Retained for 12 months
You may request deletion of your personal information by contacting us at the email below. We will honor deletion requests except where retention is required by law.
6. SMS Opt-in Details and Text Message Communications
If you opt in to receive text messages by completing the optional opt-in form at https://hopmove.com/text-updates, Hop may send you SMS messages related to your move, including:
- Booking confirmations with your move date and time
- Pre-move preparation reminders and checklists
- Day-before reminders with crew details
- Move-day updates: crew dispatch, arrival, and completion notifications
- Post-move follow-ups and review requests
- Payment-related notifications (authorization holds, card issues)
Consent: Text messaging is optional and is never required to book, schedule, or complete a move with Hop. You will only receive SMS messages if you complete the optional opt-in form. The opt-in form is available directly at https://hopmove.com/text-updates and is also accessible via a "Want text updates too?" button shown on quote and booking pages, which opens the same optional opt-in form in a modal. Booking confirmation, day-before reminder, and post-move emails are sent to every customer regardless of SMS opt-in status. Your consent is not a condition of purchasing our services.
Message frequency: Typically 2-5 messages per booking, depending on the services you selected.
Opting out: You can stop receiving text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. After opting out, you will receive one final confirmation message and no further texts. You can also contact us at the email below to update your preferences.

Costs: Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan. Hop does not charge for sending text messages.
Carriers: Mobile carriers (including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and others) are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
No Sharing of SMS Opt-in Information: No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. We do not sell, rent, or share your phone number, SMS opt-in consent, or any related SMS information for marketing purposes. Your phone number is processed by our SMS delivery infrastructure (GoHighLevel) only as strictly necessary to deliver the messages you have opted into, and is never sold, rented, leased, or shared with any third party for marketing purposes.
7. Cookies & Tracking Information
Our website uses essential cookies to maintain your session during the quote and booking process. We may also use analytics tools to understand how visitors use our site. You can control cookie settings through your browser preferences.
8. User Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Opt out of marketing communications

9. Children's Privacy
Hop is not intended for use by individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights with respect to your Personal Information under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):
- Right to Know. You may request that we disclose what Personal Information we collect, use, disclose, and sell about you.
- Right to Delete. You may request that we delete the Personal Information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.
- Right to Correct. You may request that we correct inaccurate Personal Information.
- Right to Opt Out of Sale or Sharing. Hop does not sell Personal Information. Hop does not share Personal Information for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined under CPRA.
- Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information. Hop does not use Sensitive Personal Information for purposes outside those specified in this Policy.
- Right to Non-Discrimination. Hop will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

11. Other State Residents

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of Hop after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
